Clerks

The Clerks of Court serve as the official record-keepers and administrative officers of the Fort Berthold District Court, ensuring the accurate and efficient processing of all court documents and proceedings. The Clerks are responsible for maintaining case files, recording court minutes, issuing summonses and subpoenas, processing filings, and supporting the overall operations of the judiciary in accordance with the laws and procedures of the Mandan, Hidatsa, and Arikara Nation. The Clerks play a vital role in promoting transparency, accountability, and the orderly administration of justice.

While the Clerk’s office is available to assist the public with procedural questions and access to court forms and records, it is important to note that the Clerks are NOT permitted to provide legal advice or interpret laws or rulings. Individuals seeking legal assistance or guidance regarding their rights or court cases are encouraged to contact an attorney or contact the Legal Advocate, who is available on-site at the Fort Berthold District Court building and can offer support, resources, and referrals as appropriate.
